Oracle and Abu Dhabi Education Council team up to develop user-friendly IT infrastructure in Abu Dhabi schools

Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), the organization in charge of developing education and educational institutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has joined hands with Oracle to implement Oracle Identity Management in more than 300 public schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Oracle Identity Management will provide access to a total user population of around 500,000, including parents, students, teachers and employees who now enjoy seamless access to ADEC's electronic services. The identity management system will effectively provide and manage a single access sign-in code for each user that can be used across a range of ADEC's electronic platforms. Oracle Identity Management will automatically identify the level of access that should be granted to each individual user based on his or her profile and requirements (e.g. Principal, parent, ADEC employee).

Using the most complete and best-in-class suite of Identity Management solutions from Oracle, ADEC can now manage the end-to-end lifecycle of user identities across all its resources and applications, such as ADEC's intranet portal, Electronic Student Information System (eSIS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Oracle Identity Management enables ADEC to meet compliance efficiently, secure its critical applications and sensitive data, and lower operational costs through a streamlined and automated process for provisioning access to electronic resources.

ADEC has selected Oracle Identity Management to support its ambitious efforts to modernize technological facilities in schools, and to streamline communications and processes with a large number of stakeholders through electronic resources.

Oracle Identity Management is a member of the Oracle Fusion Middleware family of products, which brings greater agility, better decision-making, and reduced cost and risk to diverse IT environments today. The solution offers the highest return on investments with improved security, lower administrative costs, high scalability, and the backing of an industry leader. The tight integration between components means accelerated deployments, simplified management, and interoperating capability with all major systems.

"Oracle is committed to advancing education and preparing young people in the UAE for life and work in the 21st century," said Husam Dajani, Senior Vice President, Oracle. "We are proud to work with ADEC and to contribute to the development of Abu Dhabi's education system through the superior capabilities provided by Oracle Identity Management. The application is the industry's most integrated Identity Management Suite and will assist around 500,000 people through increasing efficiency and exceptional support and scalability."
